Hall-Effect vs. Magnetic ABS Sensors: Choosing the Right Type

Passive magneto-electric sensors generate an AC signal proportional to wheel speed and require no power supply, while active Hall-effect sensors produce a clean digital square-wave signal and operate accurately even at very low speeds.

For modern vehicles with advanced ESP and traction control, active sensors are typically specified. Older platforms commonly use passive designs. Our catalog clearly labels each SKU as Active or Passive to simplify sourcing.

When in doubt, match by OE reference number — every Woneng product lists its cross-reference OE numbers and confirmed vehicle fitment.
